Introducing the Dashboard Wireframe Kit

The Dashboard Wireframe Kit is a proven and tested means of rapidly wireframing dashboards to align your data with the needs of the business, meet user goals and achieve actionable outcomes.

It doesn’t matter if you are not a data pro. The kit allows you to quickly communicate ideas and test concepts without having to touch a line of code or know data visualization best practices. What’s important is what questions you want answered and what behavior you want to change.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

The perfectly designed change agent

Crafted from years of analytics consulting projects, visualization best practices and real-world application.

Proven Formula

We’ve taken the guesswork out of how to layout the enterprise dashboard. Our dashboard template is based on the solid foundation hundreds of real-world operational dashboards. It provides the canvas to tell stories with your data.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/12″][vc_single_image image=”983″ css=”.vc_custom_1523658962861{padding-top: 12px !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”5/12″][vc_column_text]

Business Value

By having a questions-first approach, rather than flooding the dashboard with data, we have formalized achieving business value into the kit itself. Priority is given to solving business problems and answering questions, assuming the data is there to support it.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/12″][vc_single_image image=”982″ css=”.vc_custom_1523659011150{padding-top: 12px !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”5/12″][vc_column_text]

Behavioral Change

There’s not much point seeing data if you can act on it when you need to. That action needs to be clear and intuitive. By associating an action with each chart the potential to change behavior is much increased.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/12″][vc_single_image image=”984″ css=”.vc_custom_1523659037155{padding-top: 12px !important;}”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”5/12″][vc_column_text]

Technology Independent

Simplicity is king in enterprise dashboards. That’s why we’ve made sure the wireframes produced in this kit can be easily replicated in all the main dashboard tools including Tableau, Qlik and Power BI.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]

Storytelling and action is woven into the fabric

Storytelling is hard, but it does work. The kit structure supports a simple narrative arc that was pioneered by Nicholas Kelly after years of dashboard consulting with the Global Fortune 100.

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”105″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”104″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”103″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]

The newly designed dashboard template embeds this storytelling process directly into the board. Just follow the steps on the board and the heavy-lifting is done for you on how to create the narrative from the KPIs to the charts to action and resolution. This makes achieving greater business value that much easier.

Foldable Dashboard Template

Users have been asking for a smaller version of the dashboard template. It’s here! a 10″ x 10″ quald-fold board.

Doashboard Board

It folds down to 5″ x 5″, fits nicely in the new box and is reusable, just be sure to use a dry-erase pen, like on the cards. This board now has  best practices written right onto the board.

54 Double-Sided Chart Cards

The newly redesigned chart cards use both sides of the card now with the chart on one side and the meta content (question and resultant action) on the other.

The cards even recommend what charts to use based on your question. Covering 20 chart types from bar graphs to bubble charts and word clouds. The cards are now in a convenient poker playing card size.

KPI & Filter Cards

KPI cards now have two usable sides. The front is the presentation layer and the back is the meta layer for thresholds and how it connects the story to a chart.

The filters now have a meta area for any notes you might want the developers to be aware of. These cards are 1.75″ x 2.5″.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

A box to store everything in for ease of portability. All the cards fit in the box and the board folds down to fit neatly on top of them.

Dashboard Wireframe Kit Box

The box measures 5.5″ x 5.5″ x 2″. It is small enough to carry in one hand to your data and analytics meetings.

Real-world application

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Dashboard Wireframe Kit includes the same set of templates that have been used in countless workshops to design enterprise-grade dashboards that help improve profits and meet the goals of the business. It just works. It’s fast and saves hours of effort. The time spent on picking the exact right chart is replaced by aligning stakeholder needs and getting value out of the data.

The wire-frame kit has already proved useful in all stages of dashboard development, but the kit really shines during the collaborative process when you can actually build the elements of a dashboard in the room with your stakeholders.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/12″][vc_single_image image=”1008″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”5/12″][vc_column_text]

The ideas in this kit not only help when meeting with our business users, but also within our analytics team. Instead of creating prototype dashboards and then iterating, we can use these templates and iterate on the fly.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/12″][vc_single_image image=”1009″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”5/12″][vc_column_text]

I was very pleasantly surprised by how much it helped with speeding up the wire-framing process. This tried and tested kit helps you to easily gather requirements and be able to put a wireframe together that will allow you to visually appreciate how well you are doing to get to actionable information while keeping things simple enough for a user to understand.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/12″][vc_single_image image=”1007″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”5/12″][vc_column_text]

Ultimately an effective dashboard starts with the right questions, then supports and answers those questions in a logical order. This product seemed to do a great job prompting the user through that process.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
